Whether you are obtaining qualifications, undertaking Continuing Professional Development, or researching a particular field, gaining access to a wealth of useful and credible information resources is essential!

UCEM e-Library (accessed through a secure Virtual Learning Environment) is a comprehensive and valuable online resource, enabling staff and students to access a wealth of subject-specific and credible information to supplement teaching and learning materials, and support students throughout their studies.

The e-Library can:

  • provide access to online resources around the clock,
  • add value and depth to work, and
  • contribute to personal and professional development

 What resources are available?

  • access to up-to-date information and online searchable databases from key industry sources; useful web-links; and e-books and e-journals,
  • research and reference material to assist and underpin written work,
  • current awareness on existing issues and trends surrounding Construction and Real Estate.

The Library team is made up of Lucy Roper, Information Governance Manager and Karen Ullman, Online Learning Resources Coordinator.

Information Governance

With new technologies ‘constantly emerging’ and us finding ourselves moving further into an ever more digital direction, one of our main objectives is to making identifying relevant information easier.

The Library team work closely with the Online Education Department, Learning and Teaching Department, as well as key student support services in striving to continually improve what our e-Library has to offer.

We recognise that in an information-rich area, everyone is pressed for time and it can be a real challenge to find relevant and credible resources just when you need them.  Therefore, another objective of ours is to signpost staff, students and researchers to accessible quality information resources that will supplement teaching and learning materials and support students through their studies and continuing professional development.

To make sure that the information is available in the right place and at the right time to support others, UCEM is committed to advancing information governance, and ensure that the library and information services provided comply with copyright and data protection legislation.
