We are delighted to announce that one of our Trustees and ex-President of RICS, Amanda Clack<\/a> will be at UCEM Thursday 13th<\/sup> June<\/strong> for our latest Inspire session to talk about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the built environment. If you are a member of UCEM staff based in Reading there will be a registration invite – first come first served basis. Don\u2019t worry if you are not, as the talk will be Livestreamed on<\/strong>\u00a0our\u00a0\u00a0YouTube Channel<\/a>. We hope as many of you as possible can join us. \u00a0We will be using #UCEMInspire<\/strong> to capture the Inspire Series on Twitter<\/p>\n

Amanda is Head of Strategic Advisory at CBRE<\/a> and is Managing Director for Advisory services, supporting clients on their strategic real estate agenda. She is a Member of the UK Board. She is also the Immediate Past President for the RICS<\/a> becoming the longest serving in 123 years. Amanda is on the Development Board for the London Symphony Orchestra<\/a>. Previously she was a Partner in EY LLP and PwC LLP. Amanda is a Fellow of RICS, APM, Institute of Consulting and the RSA. She is a Certified Management Consultant and Companion of the Institute of Management. She is listed in Who\u2019s Who and has won various awards. Amanda is also a member of UCEM Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n

Amanda is a published author and speaker on areas such as strategy, digital, cities, placemaking, real estate and the war of talent.\u00a0 She is a strong voice on diversity and inclusion in the sector and has just published her second book on the subject Managing Diversity and Inclusion in Real Estate Sector<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Be the Change: The Importance of Diversity and Inclusion in the Built Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Research shows that high-performing organisations focus on diversity and inclusion (D&I). In any workplace, it is important to both understand and recognise the benefits that having a D&I workforce provides. It is integral to developing people within an organisation, serving clients as best we can, and playing an important leadership role in communities.<\/p>\n

Amanda will talk about the book she co-authored with Judith Gabler. This book is the first to place D&I at the centre of successful real estate and construction organisations. It provides guidance to, and most importantly, actions for professionals in the sector who want to make D&I an inherent part of the culture of their organisation.<\/p>\n

Through the fabulous illustrations by Farley Katz (of the New Yorker) Amanda will share the key messages and take-away\u2019s from the book to help enable you to #BeTheChange<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
